WADSWORTH, IL – According to WGN 9, two drivers fatally collided with a woman riding a bicycle on N Dilleys Rd near W Wadsworth Rd on Friday.

The victim was riding a bicycle north on Dilleys Rd when a person driving a GMC SUV hit her from behind, ejecting her from the bicycle around 11:45 p.m. The driver then allegedly fled the scene with the woman’s bicycle lodged under their SUV.

A 23-year-old man driving a Hyundai Elantra then ran over the victim.

Following the collision, the Elantra driver remained at the scene and cooperated with deputies.

A witness saw a GMC SUV dragging a bicycle heading east on Wadsworth Rd and told authorities about it.

Authorities found the SUV and its driver, a 32-year-old man, at a nearby residence.

The damage to the vehicle was consistent with a hit-and-run collision. Deputies seized the SUV.

Officials have not identified the victim.

The Lake County Sheriff’s Office Technical Crash Investigations Team is investigating the incident.
